To enter Armenia, visitors must hold a passport that is valid for at least six months beyond the date of arrival, and it must remain valid for the duration of their stay.
Nationals of the following countries can enter Armenia visa-free for tourism. The countries are Andorra, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States of America and the Vatican.
Nationals of Canada require a visa. Canadian citizens may apply online for an e-visa or obtain a visa on arrival, subject to current regulations.
Nationals not mentioned above should consult the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia (www.mfa.am/en/visa) to confirm current entry requirements.
Tourists may apply for an e-visa, obtain a visa on arrival (for eligible nationalities), or apply in advance through an Armenian embassy or consulate.
A single-entry visitor visa of up to 21 days typically costs less than US$10. Fees may vary depending on the method of application and current regulations.
Single-entry 21-day visas must be used within 90 days of the date of issue. Single-entry 120-day visas must be used within 180 days of the date of issue.
A transit visa for Armenia is required for travellers who remain in the airport transit zone for more than 48 hours, or who enter the country for up to 72 hours while travelling onward to a third destination. Transit visas may be issued for single or multiple entries, and can be extended for up to four days if necessary.
Visitors who require a visa may apply online through the official e-Visa portal (https://evisa.mfa.am), apply in advance at an Armenian embassy or consulate, or obtain a visa on arrival at designated border crossing points if eligible. Applicants are advised to check the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs website to confirm eligibility, required documents and current fees before travelling.
Armenia e-visa applications are typically processed within three working days, beginning the day after submission via the official Ministry of Foreign Affairs e-Visa portal (evisa.mfa.am). While many applications are approved more quickly, processing times may vary depending on demand and individual circumstances.
