To enter Mexico, visitors must hold a passport that is valid for the duration of their stay. While no specific minimum validity period is always enforced, it is advisable to have at least six months' validity remaining to avoid any issues during travel.

The Mexico Tourist Card (Forma Migratoria Múltiple) is mandatory for land travelers staying over 7 days or traveling beyond the border zone, allowing up to 180 days.
Cruise ship passengers of all nationalities are exempted from a visa when staying within the boundaries that were agreed upon between the government of Mexico and the cruise ship company.
