Where to stay in Luxembourg
Luxembourg offers a wide range of accommodation options despite its small size, from luxury hotels and international business properties in Luxembourg City to countryside guesthouses, boutique inns and spa resorts. Standards are generally high throughout the country, though prices can be among the highest in Europe.
Luxembourg City has the country's largest concentration of hotels, particularly around the city centre, railway station district and Kirchberg area, where many business travellers and EU visitors stay. International hotel chains are widely represented, alongside smaller boutique hotels and serviced apartments.
Outside the capital, accommodation tends to be quieter and more rural in character. The Moselle Valley is known for wine hotels and guesthouses, while the Ardennes and Müllerthal regions offer countryside inns, hiking lodges and family-run hotels popular with outdoor travellers.
Short-term apartment rentals and holiday homes are widely available, particularly in tourist areas and Luxembourg City. Advance booking is advisable during summer, major festivals and periods when European institutions are in session, as accommodation demand can rise significantly.
Camping is well developed in Luxembourg and is a popular way of exploring the country's forests, river valleys and countryside. Campsites are found throughout the country, particularly in the Ardennes, Müllerthal region and along the Moselle River.
Facilities are generally of a high standard and often include electricity, modern washrooms, restaurants, playgrounds and small shops. Some sites also offer cabins, glamping accommodation and campervan facilities.
Luxembourg's compact size and good road network make it easy to combine several camping regions within a single trip. Summer is the main camping season, though some sites remain open during spring and autumn.
Wild camping requires the landowner's permission, and restrictions apply within protected natural areas.
