Flying to Cyprus
Most international visitors arrive in Cyprus by air, with the island served by two main international airports in the Republic of Cyprus: Larnaca International Airport (LCA) and Paphos International Airport (PFO). Larnaca, on the southeast coast, is the island's principal gateway and handles most international flights year-round. Paphos Airport, on the southwest coast, is smaller but well served by low-cost and seasonal holiday flights, particularly from Europe.
Cyprus has no national airline in the traditional sense, though several carriers operate extensive services to the island. A large number of European airlines serve Larnaca and Paphos, including British Airways, easyJet, Ryanair, Wizz Air, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, Aegean Airlines and Turkish Airlines (via Turkey for flights to Northern Cyprus). During the summer season, charter airlines and additional seasonal routes connect Cyprus with cities across Europe.
For travellers from the United Kingdom, direct flights are widely available from London, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh and several other regional airports. Flights from mainland Europe are frequent, particularly during the summer months. Visitors from North America, Asia and Australia generally connect via major hubs such as Athens, Istanbul, Doha, Dubai, Vienna or Frankfurt.
Airport transfer times are relatively short by international standards. Larnaca Airport is around 15 minutes by road from central Larnaca and approximately 45 minutes from Nicosia.
From London to Larnaca: 4 hours 30 minutes (direct).

Cyprus has no international railway network.
Driving to Cyprus
As Cyprus is an island, there are no international road connections to other countries. However, vehicles can be transported to Cyprus by ferry from Greece. Visitors arriving with vehicles must ensure they have the appropriate insurance and documentation.
Getting to Cyprus by boat
As an island in the eastern Mediterranean, Cyprus can also be reached by sea, though passenger ferry services are far more limited than air travel. The principal international ferry route links Limassol with Piraeus, the port serving Athens in Greece. Services are generally seasonal and operate mainly during the warmer months.
Cyprus is a regular stop for Mediterranean cruise ships, particularly those operating eastern Mediterranean itineraries between Greece, Turkey, Egypt and Israel. Limassol is the island's principal cruise port and receives the majority of international cruise traffic.
