Flying to Turin
Airlines offering non-stop flights to Turin include British Airways and Ryanair. Flights are usually fairly cheap throughout the year, except in July and August when prices rocket. Book in advance for the best deals. There are no direct flights from the USA.

The airport is located about 15 km (9 miles) northwest of central Turin.

There are two banks, ATMs and a bureau de change in the terminal.

The are no left-luggage facilities currently available at the airport. Lost property enquiries are handled by an office about 200m (656ft) from the terminal (tel: +39 011 567 6478).
Travel by road
Summary:
Italy has an excellent network of motorways (autostrada), designated by 'A'. All motorways are tolled but the strade statali (designated by 'SS') are toll free. Speed limits are 130kph (80mph) on motorways, 90/110kph (56/68mph) on country roads and 50kph (30mph) in urban areas.
Both driver and passenger must wear seat belts, if fitted, or face an on-the-spot fine. The minimum age for driving is 18 years old. All those without an EU licence must carry an International Driving Permit.

The AA and RAC in Britain, and the AAA in America, have reciprocal agreements with the Automobile Club d'Italia (ACI) (tel: +39 06 491 115; www.aci.it).

Routes:
The A6 motorway connects Turin to Nice, while the A4 goes to Milan and Venice. The A5 runs north to Geneva and Lausanne.
Driving times:
From Rome - 7 hours; Milan - 1 hour 40 minutes; Venice - 4 hours; Nice - 3 hours; Geneva - 3 hours.
Coaches:
The main coach operators are Eurolines (tel: +39 0861 199 1900; www.eurolines.it) and Sadem (tel: +39 011 300 0611; www.sadem.it). Destinations include Milan, Palermo and the Aosta valley and services depart from the Terminal Bus Station on Corso Vittorio Emanuele 11, 131, near Porta Susa station.
Travel by rail
Services:
The main station in Turin is Porta Nuova, Corso Vittorio Emanuele 11, 53. Porta Nuova station handles international and regional high speed-trains, with services to Milan, Genoa, Pisa and Rome, as well as Paris and Barcelona. Meanwhile, Porta Susa station, Piazza XVIII Dicembre, handles regional and local trains.
Operators:
Trenitalia (tel: +39 06 6847 5475; www.trenitalia.com) is the national rail company. It runs a fast, efficient and good-value service throughout Italy. Italo (tel: 060 708, in Italy only; www.italotreno.it) offers a high-speed service to Salerno via Milan, Bologna, Florence, Rome and Naples.
Tickets are available online and you can travel with the reference number alone. You must validate printed tickets by stamping them in the yellow machines on the platform before boarding.
