Major expansion works will increase the airport's capacity to 43 million annual passengers by 2025. Among the many ongoing projects is the Haramain Railway Station at the airport. The Makkah-Medina high speed rail will link Medina with Mecca, the King Abdulaziz International Airport and Jeddah starting March 2018.

Driving directions

From central Jeddah, head north along Al Madinah Al Munawarah Road – this route takes you directly to the airport (journey time: 20 minutes).
