The airport information desk (tel: +64 3 450 9221) is located in the arrivals concourse and offers help with accommodation, travel reservations or general travel information.

Driving directions

Driving from the airport to Queenstown (or vice versa) is straightforward. Take Frankton Road either way and follow the signs.

Public Transport

Public transport road

Bus:Connectabus (tel: +64 3 441 4471; www.connectabus.com) services run between the airport and the town centre every 15 minutes (journey time: 20 minutes; fare: NZ$12). ConneXions (tel: +64 3 443 9120; www.alpineconnexions.co.nz) operates regular services to Wanaka.

Shuttle: Super Shuttle Queenstown (tel: +64 800 748 885; www.supershuttle.co.nz) offers shuttle services from the airport to Queenstown (journey time: 20 minutes; fare: NZ$20).

Taxi:The taxi stand is located outside the arrivals area. Companies serving the airport include, Corporate Cabs (tel: +64 800 789 789; www.corporatecabs.co.nz), Queenstown Taxis (tel: +64 3 450 3000; www.queenstown.bluebubbletaxi.co.nz) and Green Cabs (tel: +64 4 803 4978; www.greencabs.co.nz). Fares start at around NZ$35, and the journey time to the centre is 15-20 minutes.

Money

There are ATMs within the main concourse. There are also services for all foreign currency sales and purchases, traveller's cheques, credit card cash advances and international money transfers.

Communication

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Queenstown Airport. Public telephones are also available to passengers.

Food

There are cafés both airside and in the main concourse of the airport.

Shopping

Apart from the duty-free shop that offers tobacco, alcohol, perfumes, toiletries and more; there are gift shops selling unique New Zealand products, a book shop, a pharmacy and a retailer specialising in outdoor clothing.

Luggage

For all items lost in the terminal building, contact Queenstown Airport’s help desk (tel: +64 3 450 9221). The airport has luggage storage lockers outside the terminal building near check-in. Baggage trolleys can be used free of charge.

Other

Baby changing facilities and a first aid room are located in the terminal building. The terminal is also equipped with an AED (defibrillator).

Conference and business

The Air New Zealand Koru Lounge is located on first floor and can be accessed via the stairs midway along the departure concourse. Meeting facilities are available at larger hotels in town, including the Millennium (tel: +64 3 450 0150; www.millenniumhotels.com).

Disabled facilities

Adapted toilet facilities, lifts, and designated car parking spaces (in the set down area outside the terminal building) are available to disabled passengers. Any passengers who may require additional assistance are advised to contact their airline in advance of travel.

Car parking

The drop-off and pick-up zone is located directly outside of the main terminal building. All short- and long-term car parking is accommodated in the public car parks opposite the terminal.

Car rental

The following international car hire companies are represented at Queenstown Airport: Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Thrifty. A number of local operators also have representation at the airport.

Hotels

There are no hotels at Queenstown Airport. Accommodation is available in Queenstown itself, and at the many resort locations in the region. Information about hotel options can be requested from the Queenstown Tourist Office (tel: +64 3 441 0700).
