Restaurants in Palma de Mallorca
Palma offers visitors an impressive range of restaurants with both local cuisine and international options to suit all tastes and budgets.
The Palma restaurants below have been grouped into three pricing categories:
Expensive (over €60)
Moderate (€20 to €60)
Cheap (up to €20)
These Palma restaurant prices are for a three-course meal for one with a bottle of house wine or equivalent. Spanish VAT (IVA) of 7% is added to all bills, but tips aren’t. 10% of the total bill is expected.
Marc Fosh
Housed in the 17th-century Hotel Convent de la Missio, this Michelin-starred restaurant in Palma’s old town is quite simply unmissable. Chef Marc Fosh delivers simple but sensuous Mediterranean cuisine based around the best seasonal ingredients.
Restaurante Maricel
Situated in the 5-star hotel, Hospes Maricel, this modern, beautifully located restaurant offers one of the best dining experiences in the city. Some of its outstanding dishes include the arroz sec itorrat (honeyed rice with rabbit and mushrooms), glazed suckling pig with crispy skin, and ice cream frothed with Bailey’s.
Marisquería Ca’n Jordi
Opened in 1990, Ca’n Jordi has long been regarded as one of the best seafood restaurants in the city. Its specialties are its fresh-out-of-the-sea fish dishes, which are mostly pan-fried to enhance their natural flavour. The traditional interior and personalised service are also memorable here too.
La Despensa del Barón
Eat under 14th-century gothic arches at this upmarket restaurant in the Hotel Posada Terra Santa, which offers fine dining at reasonable prices. The tapas is delectable, but if you fancy something more substantial then there are larger plates available as well. Cuisine is fusion of Mediterranean, South America and Asia; such as green cannelloni stuffed with duck confit, truffle and apple with a foie gras sauce and toasted almonds.
Restaurante Toque
A few minutes away from the historical quarters, this family-run restaurant offers a mixture of Spanish and Belgian cuisine that will meet the demands of even the most hardened diner. The dishes that have won the hearts of many include the beef stroganoff, the duck leg with apple, and the American steak.
Viêt nam Café
If you are looking for an exotic bite, make sure to stop by this Vietnamese restaurant located at the heart of the city. The specialty starters are the traditional Vietnamese spring rolls, or ‘nems’, made using fresh ingredients imported from Asia. The restaurant also has a zen-like atmosphere.
Tast Avenidas
Tast Avenidas is a centrally located tapas bar that offers fantastic value for money. Helpings are generous and fabulously varied, but (unsurprisingly) you’ll often have to wait for a table. Locals tend to eat at the bar, but there is also a quieter restaurant with private dining rooms available too.
Verd i Verd salad bar
A great option for vegetarians and health-conscious travellers, this clinical-looking salad bar (the biggest in Palma) offers wholesome and ecological fare that helps diners recharge. The huge variety in toppings and menu options make it a great place for a quick bite.
La Taberna De La Boveda
This typical Castilian bar is said to offer the best tapas in the city, with affordable prices and an impressive menu of traditional tapas. For first-timers, this is an excellent place to start if you’d like to get to know Spanish food a little better.
