Cork Airport Guide (ORK)
Cork Airport is located 8km (5 miles) to the south of central Cork.
Cork Airport, in the southwest of Ireland, is one of the country's busiest airports in terms of passenger numbers. Our Cork Airport guide includes information on terminal facilities, transport options and nearby hotels.
From Cork city, take the N27 southbound then take the first exit at Airport Roundabout. From the south (Kinsale), take the R600 northbound then take the first exit at Airport Roundabout. These routes run directly past the airport site.
Public Transport
Rail: Trains to Dublin and other destinations in Ireland run from Cork's Kent Railway Station (tel: +353 1 836 6222; www.irishrail.ie), which is 8km (5 miles) from the airport. Regular bus services operate from the airport to the station.
Bus: Bus Éireann (tel: +353 1 836 6111 for customers calling the airport from outside the Republic; www.buseireann.ie) provides a regular bus service (bus 226 and 226A) from Cork Airport to Cork city’s Parnell Place bus station and main railway station. The journey to Parnell Place bus station from Cork Airport usually takes 20 minutes, and the single fare is €2.80 for an adult. Tickets can be purchased on the bus, at the ticket machine situated outside the terminal or on the Bus Éireann website.
Bus 252, which runs from Parnell Place bus station to Cork Airport, then on to Kinsale, Skibbereen and Kenmare, also calls at Cork Airport. This bus only operates during summer months.
Bus Éireann also offers long-distance services to destinations throughout Ireland, while Citylink (tel: +353 91 564 164; www.citylink.ie) operates regular services to Limerick, Galway, Clifden and Dublin.
Taxi: Cork Airport Taxi (tel: +353 87 281 2581; www.corkairporttaxi.com) is the main taxi provider for Cork Airport. Taxis can be hailed at the rank located outside the main terminal. The journey time into Cork is around 15 minutes, and the fare starts at around €20.
Terminal facilities
The bureau de change (open 0500-2200 daily) are located on the lower level, next to the WHSmith bookshop. There is an ATM located next to the ICE Currency Exchange on the ground floor.
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available in the Aspire Lounge which is located opposite Gate 8 in the departures area.
The Loop shopping area features a number of shops selling designer brands, perfumes, accessories and gifts, as well as an array of homeware, alcohol and tobacco. A 'shop and collect' service is on hand for departing passengers who don’t wish to take their purchase with them on their trip. Duty-free shopping is available at The Loop.
For items lost or found at Cork Airport, call the lost property office (tel: +353 21 431 3131 then press 4). Items left at the lost property office will be kept for 90 days after which it will be disposed of. Lost items can be reported missing at www.corkairport.com. Valid ID is required when collecting lost property. A €5 handling fee is payable for each lost item that is returned to its owner.
Airport facilities

Cork Airport has a range of facilities for travellers with disabilities and persons with reduced mobility (PRM). There are dedicated toilets, lowered telephones and ample lifts and escalators throughout the terminal building – clear signage points the way to these. All lifts have inbuilt voiceovers and Braille control buttons. Parking spaces reserved for PRM are available on the ground floor of the short-term car park.
Cork Airport offers short- and long-term car parks that operate 24 hours a day. The multi-storey short-term parking area is connected to the terminal building by a covered walkway. Long-term parking is within walking distance of the terminal. A shuttle bus service from the long-term car park to the terminal is available. Drivers dropping off or picking up passengers can stop momentarily outside the terminal in the set-down lane for a maximum of 15 minutes free of charge. The following car hire companies are represented in the arrivals concourse at Cork Airport: Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. Enterprise offers hire cars on a pre-bookable basis only.
Close to the terminal building, the Cork Airport Hotel operates a 24-hour courtesy shuttle service to Cork Airport. Facilities include a restaurant/bar, fitness centre, business services, and meeting rooms with a capacity for up to 200 people.
Just a five-minute walk from the terminal, this is a luxurious accommodation option at Cork Airport. The hotel offers extensive meeting and conference facilities plus a bar and a range of dining options such as Sunday Lunch and a summer BBQ. A free shuttle bus service runs to the airport terminal at 30-minute intervals.
Situated 5km (3 miles) from Cork Airport, the Travelodge Cork Airport Hotel offers basic accommodation at budget prices. This basic hotel has free Wi-Fi, sauna and a 24-hour reception.
