Chania International Airport Guide (CHQ)
Chania International Airport is located 15km (9 miles) east of Chania city, on the Akrotiri Peninsula, part of the Greek island of Crete.

Tourist and airport information desks are located in the arrivals area of the airport. English, and a number of additional foreign languages, is spoken by staff.
From central Chania, driving to the airport involves taking a number of relatively minor roads eastbound from the city centre. However, Chania International Airport is clearly signposted and the driving time is around 30 minutes.
Public Transport
Bus:Local KTEL buses (tel: +30 2821 091 288; www.e-ktel.com) run infrequently in each direction between Chania and Chania International Airport. The journey time is roughly 30 minutes, and the fare is €2.50.
Taxi:Taxis are readily available in front of the terminal. The journey time to Chania is about 30 minutes and fares start at around €25 one-way. Several companies, including Taxi Hermes (tel: +30 2821 098 700; www.chaniataxi.gr) offer pre-bookings.
Terminal facilities
Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Chania International Airport. Additionally, payphones are available within the terminal and there is also an on-site post office.
Duty-free shopping is available for non-EU passengers. There is also a newsagent/tobacconist and a gift shop.
Left-luggage lockers are not available, but a lost and found service (tel: +30 2821 083 800) operates at the airport.
Airport facilities
There are no conference or meeting rooms at Chania International Airport. There is, however, a serviced VIP lounge for those seeking workspace and basic business services.
For meeting and conference facilities, it is necessary to travel into the city where a number of hotels provide such services. A good option is the Halepa Hotel (tel: +30 2821 028 440; www.halepa.com), which is near Chania city centre and 15km (9.5 miles) from the airport. This hotel has conference/meeting facilities with a capacity for up to 20 delegates.
There are 340 short and long-term parking spaces immediately outside the terminal building.
Car hire companies at Chania International Airport include: Europcar, Hertz and Kappa. The car hire desks are located in Arrivals.
On the coastline to the north of the airport, this is a resort for those seeking more luxurious accommodation while maintaining a convenient distance from the airport. A selection of bars and restaurants are present on site and the hotel boasts a pool with sea views.
A short walk from the city centre, Halepa Hotel offers a range of facilities, including meeting space, on-site dining and a roof garden with views of the city. The airport is just 15km (9.5 miles) to the east.
Located at the eastern end of Chania, a 20-minute walk from the city centre, Hotel Doma is one of the closest hotels to Chania International Airport. Housed in a restored 19th-century mansion, the property offers sea views and period furnishings.
Roughly 12km (8 miles) from the airport, this family-run accommodation option is served by buses from the city centre. The hotel is set in gardens, and features indoor and outdoor dining, plus an outdoor pool.
