Munich Airport Guide (MUC)
Munich Airport (Flughafen München in German), also known by its namesake Franz Josef Strauss, is a significant air hub serving as the second busiest in Germany after Frankfurt Airport. Home to two passenger terminals, T1 and T2, it efficiently manages the influx of millions of travellers each year.
Beware that Munich Airport's Terminal 2 has two buildings – Gates G and H are in the T2 building, while Gates J, K, L and SAT are in the Terminal 2 Satellite building.
The information desk on Level 3 in the main concourse operates 24 hours.
Other information desks located on Level 4 (Terminal 1) and Levels 3 and 4 (Terminal 2) are available during flight operations.
A shuttle bus service links Terminals 1 and 2 from 07:00 to 17:00 at a 10-minute interval and every 20 minutes outside these hours. Passengers can also spend 10 minutes walking between these two terminals.
An underground shuttle train service connects the T2 main building (Gates G and H) with the T2 Satellite (Gates J, K, L, and SAT) every 4 minutes from early morning until midnight.
Munich Airport is accessible via Autobahn 92 (BAB92 or A92), a 134-km long highway that connects Munich with Deggendorf. Exit 6 leads to the airport.
Typical drive time from Munich city center to the airport is around 40 minutes.

Rail: S1 and S8 commuter trains connect the airport with central Munich locations, including the main station (Hauptbahnhof) and Marienplatz. Visitors can use the MVV site (Munich Transit Authority) to plan a journey.
Bus: Lufthansa Express runs an efficient service to Munich Central Station via Munich North (Schwabing). The interval is every 20 minutes.
