Airport news

The new Mariscal Sucre International Airport opened for business in February 2013, replacing the previous facility of the same name, which was located just north of the city centre.

Information

There is an airport information desk in the public departure area. Additionally, there are free information telephones in both International and Domestic Departures.

Driving directions

From central Quito, take the E28 highway east via Cumbayå towards Tumbaco, turning north onto the E35 at Pifo. After 3km (2 miles) on the E35, the Conector Alpachaca road branches off the E35 and leads directly to the airport. Owing to the winding nature of the roads around Quito and traffic congestion, the journey can take anything up to 100 minutes.
