Airport news

The long established plan to build a direct rail link from the airport to central Prague appears to have finally been given the go ahead. Construction is set to start in the next few years.

Transfer between terminals

Transport between the terminals is by bus, minibus or taxi. Terminals 1 and 2 are linked by a connecting building. Terminal 3 is for private aircraft only.

Driving directions

From central Prague, head west over Jiráskův Bridge and then turn north along Městský Okruh. At the first major intersection, turn onto the westbound Bělohorská and then follow the northbound R1 motorway – this leads directly past the airport site, with the K Letišti access road connecting to the main terminal complex.

Public transport road

Bus: The Airport Express links to the city’s Central Station with a stop en route at Dejvická Metro station. Other services include bus 100 to Zlicin Metro station (on Metro line B) and buses 119 and 254 to Dejvická Metro station (on Metro line A). Two night bus services operate after hours. All services are operated by DP Praha (tel: +420 296 191 817; www.dpp.cz), which has an information desk in the arrivals hall.

Taxi: Registered taxis operated by AAA RadioTaxi (tel: +420 222 333 222; www.aaaradiotaxi.cz) and Fix (tel: +420 220 117 078; www.airportcars.cz) are available in front of the arrivals hall.

Minibus: Minibuses operated by CEDAZ (tel: +420 220 116 758; www.cedaz.cz) serve the airport. Minibus stands are located in front of the arrivals hall.

Money

There is a bank branch, several bureaux de change and numerous ATMs within the main terminal complex.

Communication

Free Wi-Fi internet access is available throughout Prague Airport. Additionally, a post office is located in the corridor connecting Terminals 1 and 2.

Food

Dining facilities are available for passengers in the public and transit areas of Terminals 1 and 2, in the departures areas, and in the transit halls. There is a wide selection of bars, cafés and restaurants from which to choose, from wine bars serving small dishes to fast-food outlets – a number of eateries are open 24 hours a day.

Shopping

There are more than 70 shops at the airport, including gift shops and duty-free outlets. Specialist retailers include a watch and jewellery shop, designer clothes boutiques and shops selling Czech-made crystal items.

Luggage

A lost property service (tel: +420 220 115 005) is on hand for enquiries in the arrivals hall. Oversized baggage shipping and baggage wrapping services are available in the check-in areas.

Other

A 24-hour medical service and a pharmacy are available on-site. There are children’s play areas in both terminals, as well as baby change facilities and dedicated rooms for parents and their children. Those with some free time can wander around the museum in Terminal 2.

Conference and business

There are a number of airline and members lounges equipped with a range of communication and business services. Additional services can be provided by the VIP Service (tel: +420 220 114 490). Conference facilities seating up to 350 people can be found in the building connecting Terminals 1 and 2. Additional meeting facilities are offered by some airport hotels, including the Holiday Inn Prague Airport (tel: +420 236 161 111; www.ihg.com).

Disabled facilities

Prague Airport is accessible to disabled passengers and assistance can be requested in advance (tel: +420 220 111 220). Passengers should also inform their airline of their requirements prior to travel. Parking is free for disabled passengers upon presentation of a valid disabled badge; reserved spaces are available in the multistorey car park.

Car parking

Short-term car parking at Prague Airport is provided in the P1 and P2 areas near Terminals 1 and 2. The multistorey car park C provides long-term options and is connected to Terminal 2 by a walkway. Economy rates are offered at car park D, which is linked to the terminals by a free shuttle bus.

Car rental

Car hire companies: Avis, Budget, Czechocar, Dvorak, Europcar, Hertz, Rent Plus and Sixt are all represented at the airport, with counters on the ground floor of car park C.

A number of conventional and transit hotels are located in and around the airport grounds, with further options in the city of Prague itself.

A short distance from the northern terminal complex (Terminals 1 and 2) of Prague Airport, the Holiday Inn runs a free shuttle bus service around the airport. This hotel is a good option for those staying on business with its 24-hour business centre and meeting space.

Situated near the South Terminal (Terminal 3) of Prague Ruzynĕ Airport, this hotel offers a free shuttle bus service to the other terminals. Hotel facilities include meeting rooms, an on-site restaurant and a customer car parking area.

Prague Airport Rest & Fun Center

For transit passengers arriving from outside the Schengen area, this centre, located in the transit area of Prague Airport Terminal 1, has TVs (with DVD players and game consoles), showers, Wi-Fi internet access and rooms for passengers to top up on their sleep between flights.
