Bilbao Airport Guide (BIO)
Bilbao Airport is located approximately 11km (6.5 miles) north of Bilbao city centre.
Bilbao Airport serves the capital of Spain’s Biscay province, Bilbao, in the country’s Basque region. It is known for its distinctive main terminal, which was designed by Santiago Calatrava. Our guide to the airport is a useful resource for travellers, with information regarding terminal facilities, public transport access and nearby accommodation options.
Information points are located on the first floor on the baggage reclaim hall and the third floor in the check-in hall.
From central Bilbao, head north on Artxanda-Salbe Tunela and at the junction take a right onto N-637 towards Aireportua. From here, take the exit onto the BI-631, and finally, take exit 11 for N-633; this road leads to the airport terminal. The total drive time from central Bilbao to the airport is approximately 10 minutes.
